Blake Brown Finds Victory Lane in Brucebilt Performance Iron-Man Modified Series Event at I-75 Raceway

SWEETWATER, TENNESSEE (July 10, 2021)– The Brucebilt Performance Iron-Man Modified Series would be back in action at I-75 Raceway in Sweetwater, TN for the tour’s second and final visit of the season to the track and Blake Brown of Corbin, KY would stave off repeated challenges from Ricky Tinch of Deer Lodge, TN and claim his fourth series victory of the season and pick up the $1,200 first place prize money. The event was completed with rain around the area and the track would have over 140 total cars on the grounds. The track and series would like to sincerely thank everyone who stayed late to the watch the event.

The victory by the 22-year old Brown would be his eighth career Brucebilt Performance Iron-Man Modified Series victory and fourth of the season and would come behind the wheel of a Lightning Chassis powered by a Vic Hill Race Engine and carrying sponsorship from Edgewood Homes of Williamsburg, Don Franklin Ford of London, Z-Max, Lawyer Muscle Racing, Kentucky Clutch, Kevin and Larry Ison Motorsports, Kentucky Farm Bureau by Blake Brown, and Wheelersburg Raceway.

Blake Brown would take the lead at the start of the event, but caution would wave on lap one when Nick Stroupe slowed on the track in turn four. Brown would maintain the lead on the restart, with Ricky Tinch nipping at Brown’s heels for the lead. Brown and Tinch would make it a two-car battle in the early going of the event as the lead pair started working slower traffic, with Tinch repeatedly challenge Brown for the lead on several occasions as the duo worked slower traffic. Richie Overholser would slow in turn four on lap sixteen to slow the action. The restart would see the caution fly immediately again when Amos Bunch would spin his mount exiting turn two. Brown would maintain the lead over Tinch on the this restart and only two more circuits would be completed before Chris Wilson’s machine would have mechanical issues on the frontchute and slow to draw the caution. Brown would again maintain the advantage on the restart, with Tinch continuing to challenge Brown from his second position. This battle would continue until the final caution would wave as the field began to work the white flag lap when Larry James would spin in turn one to draw the caution, with leader Brown having no place to go and stops. Brown would regain the top spot based on series rules and Brown would hold off Tinch over the final two laps to score the victory. Tinch would settle for runner-up honors, with Kirk Turner claiming the final podium position with a third-place effort. Brandon Kinzer and Brad Dyer would round out the top five. The remainder of the top ten finishers would be Wayne James, Amos Bunch, Matthew Hopper, Jimmy Dalton, and Billy Palmer.

The next event for the Brucebilt Performance Iron-Man Modified Series will see the tour make its first-ever visit to Mountain View Raceway in Spring City, TN on Saturday July 31, racing for $1,200 to win and $125 to start.
