Lee Victorious in Dandy Brucebilt Performance Iron-Man Modified Series Spring Showdown at Ponderosa Speedway

JUNCTION CITY, KENTUCKY (April 16, 2021)– The Brucebilt Performance Iron-Man Modified Series would kick off its 2021 season with the first half of the Spring Showdown at Ponderosa Speedway in Junction City, KY on Friday evening and Victor Lee of Danville, KY would lead all 25 laps of the event on the way to a $1,200 payday.

The victory by the 41-year old second generation racer would be second career Brucebilt Iron-Man Modified Series victory and would come behind the wheel of a Diamond Race Car with a Pro-Power Race Engine with sponsorship from Collins Custom Homes, Horton Racing, Keltner Contracting, E-Z Waste, Tri-County Auto and Oil, Off-Road Powder Coating, LYR, and Diamond Race Cars.

Victor Lee would take the lead at the start of the event, with Peyton Harlow, Blake Brown, Cole Falloway, and Chris Johnson in pursuit. Falloway would work past Brown for third on lap two, while disaster would strike Harlow on lap four when he would loop his machine and have to retire from the event with front-end damage. The restart would see Lee maintain the lead, with Falloway, Brown, Johnson, and Amos Bunch giving chase. The second and final caution of the race waved on lap six when Dakota Curry would spin his mount in turn two and would continue. Lee would lead the restart, with sixth place running Wayne James would roll the top side of the track and take fifth from Bunch on the restart, only to see Bunch reclaim the spot on lap eight, while James would secure the spot on lap ten. Meanwhile, Lee and Falloway would begin to motor away from the field, with Brown still third, with James now pressuring Johnson for fourth and would claim the spot on lap fourteen, while Ricky Tinch would make his way into the top five on lap sixteen after a heated battle with Johnson and Bunch. The front pair of Lee and Falloway would catch lapped traffic with five laps remaining and Falloway would pull alongside Lee, but could not execute the pass in traffic. Lee would make a bold move between lapped cars on the final lap to gain a shimer of breathing room and would claim the win by 0.221 seconds over Falloway, with Brown settling for third, while James and Tinch completed the top five. The remainder of the top ten finishers would be Bunch, Johnson, Jimmy Crabtree, David Clark, and Tyler Collis.

The next event for the Brucebilt Performance Iron-Man Modified Series will be Saturday April 17 at Lake Cumberland Speedway in Burnside, KY to conclude the 2021 Spring Showdown weekend. The event will pay $1,200 to win and $125 to start.
